Saif has a background in informatics, applied mathematics, and large-scale simulations. Currently, he is interested in the role of inhibitory neurons in supporting complex computations in cortical circuits. Some of his other interesting projects have involved brain–computer interfaces and models of heterosynaptic plasticity.
