Sofia is a PhD student in the collaborative research center IN-CODE under the supervision of Henning Sprekeler. Her project focuses on circuits of inhibitory neurons for integration of sensory information. Sofia did her MSc in Computational Neuroscience at the BCCN Berlin on a DAAD study scholarship and first joined the lab for a rotation, which led to her master’s thesis on using brain–machine interfaces to identify cortical learning algorithms. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Lisbon and is a former student of the German School of Lisbon. In her free time, Sofia enjoys reading and playing classical guitar.
